Conduct
REIA's National Principles of Conduct ensure agents act ethically and fairly for clients.
REIA administers the REIA National Principles of Conduct. These underpin all State and Territory Institute members training programs, codes of conduct, and the REIA awards and accreditation programs.
The REIA National Principles of Conduct require:
- Agents to act in the best interests of their clients and in accordance with their instructions (except where it would be unreasonable or improper to do so).
- To act ethically, fairly and honestly when dealing with all parties.
As the Australian Chapter for FIABCI, REIA also apply FIABCI's International Code of Ethics. FIABCI also works with the United Nations and holds a special status at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1995. FIABCI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UN-Habitat with the scope of evaluating the engagements of Cities in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
