The work of the REIA is led by a board of directors who guide the strategic direction and policy goals of the organisation. The board works with the CEO and an experienced management team to achieve outcomes for the institute and its members.
The board consists of one representative from each state or territory, nominated by the respective state or territory Real Estate Institute.
Ms Pamela Bennett was elected as president in 2011 and has served on the REIA board as a director for eight years.
Ms Bennett is a licensed real estate agent who held a Professionals franchise for 31 years. For the past five years, Ms Bennett has been and independent buyers/sellers agent.
Ms Bennett is a fellow of the REIQ and as of July 2009 was elected chairman of the REIQ board, having serviced the REIQ board since 1999. Ms Bennett has chaired the Consistent Education and Licensing Committee for the past four years and has served 15 years as the Industry Representative in Queensland at the Residential Tenancies Authority.
Ms Bennett is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was appointed to the board of the Construction & Property Services Industry Skills Council in November 2011.
In that same year he was also awarded an Associate of the Real Estate Institute of Australia (AREI) and in 2010 was recognised for his services to the industry and was awarded a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Australia (FREI). Stan is also the Chair of the REIA National Awards and Sponsorship Committee and has been since 2009.
REIA Board Director Morgan Shearer has lived in the Northern Territory for 41 years. He has been involved in the real estate industry for 25 years and is a fully licensed land and business agent and auctioneer, with experience in all facets of the industry.
He is a Board Director of REINT and was NT Auctioneer of the Year in 2000, 2004 and 2006, runner-up in 2005, and represented the NT in the Australasian Real Estate Institutes Auctioneering Championship in 2005 and 2006.
Rob has had long involvement with REIWA, he was elected to REIWA Council in 2003.
Rob operates from Druitt & Shead First National Real Estate in Doubleview. He commenced in real estate in 1989 and since obtaining his real estate licence in 1992 has been licensee of the office.
Rob is an accomplished auctioneer of over ten years experience, he has represented WA in the Australasian Auctioneering Finals on three occasions.
Ted was appointed to the REIA Board in November 2011. Ted’s background prior to joining the real estate profession was in the financial sector. In 1991 he joined the real estate profession in residential sales where he quickly established himself as an award winner. In 1993, he established his own residential real estate business.
In 2002 he took up a new role as CEO for Professionals Real Estate SA and is part of the Professionals Group Management Team.
In 2009, elected to the REISA board and is chairman of the finance committee. Ted has a diploma in real estate as well as commerce.
Peter has worked in the real estate industry since 1972 and with the exception of a three month contract at Toowoomba has always worked in the Northern Tasmanian regional market of Launceston, and surrounds. He was a partner in Bushby First National before opening his own boutique agency specialising in residential property sales in 1997.
He is a former National Board Member of the First National Real Estate group and chaired their National Marketing Committee. He was involved in the formation of the Professionals in Tasmania and is currently a Tasmanian Property Agents Tribunal panel member.
